The big news this week is that the Worship Center flooring installation has begun up on the platform (stage). A dark, wood-look vinyl is now in place. Next up: The main floor, which will feature tile in many areas and carpet down the aisles and at the entrance.

Also just completed: Vertical glass panes have now been inserted into the wood interior doors all over the building.

The workers’ attention this week has been on the parking lot. As of Tuesday, Sept. 17:

  • Paving is 100 percent complete
  • Curbing is about 50 percent complete
  • Striping and signage will begin next week

Workers are finishing up with baseboards in many of the areas of the facility. Others are adding special touches to the flooring – in certain places, strategic tile color choices will create a flowing appearance down longer hallways.

More progress at the new church centers around the paving of the entire parking area and entry roads. Over the weekend, crews began the multiple-day project of smoothing a foundation. Paving should begin in the coming days.

Discussions and a design are nearly complete for a church sign, featuring a large cross resembling the letter “T” in the Tomoka logo. Kenco Signs was selected to do the work.
